UNITED WE STAND

We at SaveFarmingville.com are not, and never have been affiliated in any way with any other group or organization. Our agenda is seperate from the other groups operating in and around Farmingville. We do not condone the methods or tactics that these groups have used, and are still using to further their cause. It is our hope that we can achieve success by respecting the law and earning the respect the officials that will be able to help us.

SAVE OUR COMMUNITY!!! THAT IS OUR GOAL.......

If you have come to this site you must share the sentiments of thousands of your fellow homeowners; How can we save our community?

We are relatively new to this phenomenon of living next door to illegal, unlicensed,

30 person boarding house, but we know some of you have been dealing with this for years.

This has been allowed to go on for far too long.

We have learned quickly that you must be persistant, and work together with the government in order to achieve the satisfaction we have all been denied in the past. It is our feeling that by doing this we can improve the community-government relationship resulting in solutions to the current problems we all face as residents of Farmingville.

We hope to unite the people of Farmingville, and rid our community of  the unsafe and over crowded boarding houses that are on nearly every street in our middle class family neighborhoods. We simply want the laws and codes of our Town to be enforced. It is our hope that together we can achieve this goal.

This web site is an opportunity for all of you to be heard.

Write us at info@savefarmingville.com Let us know how the issue of housing effects you and your family. Together we can make a difference.

10 THINGS YOU CAN DO;

1. Report the property to Operation Firestorm.

2. Keep a DETAILED log of everything! Dates of incidents, if police were called get police report #'s, If you have reported anything to other agencies keep a log of who you spoke to, what was said, and weather or not you got satisfaction on the complaint.

3. Create a log of liscence plates of contractors trucks and cars that pick up and drop off residence of the properties you have reported.

4. Gather as much evidence as you can regarding the number of people living in the house. You can video tape morning routines for a more acurate count. We have video survailance equiptment available for a minimal fee, email us  if you are interested.

5. Take photographs of the condition of the property you have reported.

6. Write to your representitives! Include the photographs you have taken. Tell them what you are doing, offer to work with them to help solve the problems in our community. ( use the links at the top of this page to locate your representitives and their addresses!)

7. Follow up! Unfortunately one phone call or one letter is not enough. If you have not heard back on a report, or a letter you must make a follow up call, or send a follow up letter.

8. Give all of your information to the inspectors that respond to your complaint. Any information you can provide them will help them help you.

9. Once you have recieved action on your complaint be patient, report any changes to the authorities, and keep them updated if you recieve more information that you feel may be helpful to the investigation.

10.  Tell your friends and neighbors to do the same.

Town of Brookhaven Board meetings, 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month, 6:00pm.Show up, bring your friends & neighbors. We need to show that we are UNITED! You must sign in with the clerk for a chance to speak before the Town Board. Let the Board know exactly how you feel, and how the boarding houses, and the other issues in our community effect your life. (It helps to have a prepared statement). They need to hear from each and every one of us!  We must let them know that we will not stand by and watch as our property values fall, and our community is destroyed by greedy slumlords!
